The Liffey Descent 2024 is now live!! The race will take place on Saturday 11th May 2024 along the iconic 32km route, tackling 10 weirs and taking in the stunning scenery Counties Kildare and Dublin have to offer. The race begins at 12:00pm from the world famous K Club in County Kildare, tracing the most spectacular sections of the River Liffey to finish at the Garda boat Club in Islandbridge, Dublin.
In its new May date we are looking forward to another Liffey Descent with the best possible water levels and an experience to remember for all participants. Last years edition saw prime water levels and some thrilling racing. We cant wait for another year of the best possible Liffey Descent and a chance for the entire community to come together and take on the challenge.
This years race will be the first event in a marathon racing festival weekend, with a double-header of the Liffey Descent and the Junior Liffey Descent on the Saturday and Sunday. Giving us a chance to welcome more of the community to take on the challenge of the River Liffey, and have all ages and abilities catered for across the weekend of racing. The Junior Liffey Descent takes place on Sunday 12th May, with the race starting from the Salmon Leap Canoe Club in Leixlip, and finishing at the Canoe Centre in Palmerstown.
